Amazon.co.uk Review The Sex and the City phenomenon continues in Series 3 of this outrageously addictive cult show. The four highly sexed thirtysomethings share their hopes, fears and even boyfriends (when Charlotte decides to throw a "used boyfriend party") in a New York where you can buy Manolo Blahniks on the proceeds of one article a week and eat mountains of junk food yet stay as thin as a pencil. But if the peripheral details remain somewhat fantastical, the searing honesty of the main storyline takes this third season to dramatic heights only suggested by the previous seasons. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) falls head-over-heels for chunky furniture designer Aidan Joff (John Corbett) but still embarks on a disastrous affair with her newlywed ex, Mr Big (Chris Noth). The resulting triangle, set against the background of Charlotte's outwardly perfect marriage to Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), proves to be electrifying viewing. But the humour is as sharp as ever too: Samantha's run-in with her drag-queen prostitute neighbours, Miranda pretending to be an air stewardess so as not to frighten men away and one of Charlotte's boyfriends talking dirty to her in bed are all moments of great high comedy. It just gets better and better. --Warwick Thompson

How do they do it? It just kept getting better December 28, 2007 A brilliant show, this DVD is a brilliant investment as these episodes can be watched over and over again. I love it, they make you laugh, they make you cry and you can identify with them so many times. This DVD set along with the others has pride of place on the shelf. This is what motivates me to get the ironing board out and tackle the mountain of clothes, as i know i can stand there and laugh along with these fabulous New York ladies, hey who cares if a few clothes get slightly singed along the way!
Same Sex, Same City May 20, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Trying to keep the show going on nothing more than sex seemed like it would never work but here as we see this has as much fun at the expence of men as the first two seasons, as the fab four fall in and out of love with all the men in New York
sex sex and more sex October 14, 2004 6 out of 24 found this review helpful
How are we ever going to live without these girls i do not know, in the last season we saw big getting married all i could scream at the t.v was NO !!! he and carrie are so ment to be together but them having an affair see's carrie at her lowest (who saw that comming)but not telling any one and drifting away from her friends BOO !!!. Mean while charlotte rushes into married to a scot called tray (dont know what she was thinking) miranda is single again and has replaced sex with chocolate and shock horror samantha becomes a lesbian for a couple of episodes till a disaster with a strap on. All in all this is a great season but is also a 18 so the sex sceanes just get ruder and ruder YEAH !!!
The Best series? February 29, 2004 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
I love series 3 of Sex and the City. It seems to be the best mix of drama and comedy, and there are a few episode which are just hilarious. The links between the sences; when Carrie "narrates" what's happening have always been a great little feature in their own right. I do think all the DVDs could be padded out with some commentary or interviews with the writers, it would just bring in an added dimension. Having said that, the girls on their own are plenty to entertain you for hours - when my discs arrived everything else was put on hold until I'd watched almost an entire series in one sitting! Particular favourite episodes from this series? It has to be when Carrie asks in her colom: "Are we Sluts?" and the episode enttitled "Easy Come, Easy Go", when Samantha meets the guy who is less than delicious! There are also issues of a more serious nature, addressed, for women everywhere to identify with. Miranda and Steve split up, but still stay together. And Charlotte's marriage quest pays off.All in all a balanced series and well worth the purchase.
