5 out of 5 stars Magical   March 9, 2007

This is a superb film that, inexplicably, is not well known.

A gentle giant of a boy who has been almost irrevocably damaged by terrible events in his childhood is brought back to life by a small disabled boy.
This disabled boy is given a chance to see the world - and live in his own world with this huge companion.

It is funny, sweet and very emotional - but never in a contrived manner.

How it didn't get an Oscar - or Elden Henson (the actor who plays Max Kane) didn't get an Oscar I'll never understand.

See it - and enjoy.

What a fantastic story about friendship honour and knightship!!! the way the kids see themselves as modern day knights is so cool, just to see englands king arthur and his knights walking across the bridge in modern day USA was so amazing i had a lump in my throat, two kids and there amazing adventures which sums us all up at the end of the day!!!! a really moving story with a very touching ending but really clever!!!

5 out of 5 stars a gem of a film   April 6, 2006

I agree with all the other reviewers. There is something so inexplicably charming about this movie that makes it most unforgettable. The acting by Henson and Culkin are sincere- with Sharon Stone and Gillian Anderson as great supporting characters. The theme of Arthurian knights is a nice touch on this excellent story. I'm saddened by the fact that this movie did not do as well at the box office. However I don't believe for a moment that the financial earning of a film is a mark of its excellence.
