Richard Scarry's Best ABC Video Ever!

1) American words used rather than English equivalent (e.g. "A is for AIRPLANE").

2) Letters and words all upper case rather than lower case.

3) No sounding out of the letters.

4) Words chosen to represent each letter inappropriate as they use an irregular sound, e.g. "I is for ICE-CREAM" rather than "i is for ink".

5) Words chosen to represent each letter arguably too long for beginners at reading.

If this is Richard's Scarry's best ABC video then I hate to think what the other ones are like.

I purchased this video this summer for my 3years old son. As his language development is a little slow due to his trilingual environment, I was not entirely sure if he'd be interested in it yet. However, it turned out to be a great success and now he is crazy about alphabets! So I dug out my old childhood book called Richard Scarry's ABC word book and he loves both the voideo and the book very much. I think they go well together.
A video that is a pleasure to watch with (or even without?) your children.

It is a very educational and entertaining video. My two year old son has learned to count to ten, learned his shapes and the alphabet. I am so pleased. This video is a bedtime ritual in our house, we watch it at least twice a day and never get tired. My seven month baby boy loves it too. We sing to all the tunes and do all the actions, it's great fun. I have been so impressed with this video that I have bought another one for my friend's son's 2nd birthday. I am sure he will get the same pleasure and fun as we do. I highly recommend this video.

We just finished up a year in the States which is why we are already familiar with this great video. It was one of my sons all-time favorites. I hope that all of R.Scarry's tapes will be available in Pal form soon.
