Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Paul and Mick's Excellent Adventure   December 5, 2003
Wow, what a video. In the middle of an 80s revival as we now are, it's difficult to recall that not everything in the 80s was tacky and, frankly, naff. Paul and friends were actually cool and stylish at the time, and influenced their fans to follow suit (literally!). One minute in a flash French 'Belmondo' rain mac, the next in a cycling top, then loafing in some loafers. Splendid.

The Style Council's videos are certainly 80s, but not in that cheesy way that much of the 80s seems to have been done. Even nibbling Mick Talbot's ear whilst floating down a river in a boat 'Maurice'-style for 'Long Hot Summer', or riding about on bicycles making like they're in France for 'My Ever Changing Mind', there is a whimsical humour to these cool videos which (I hate to say it, but...) the Wellster has lost lately. He's oh-so-serious now - no, Paul, slip back into your cycling jersey and find some ladies behind a haystack! Even better, do some scooter-jousting like you did in 'Jerusalem'....

Well, I doubt he will. He's the Godfather of Britpop, or something or other nowadays, so we will have to watch these videos and smile wry smiles. Oh, and Amazon is my 'Favourite Shop'....
